Information that we get from you and the manner in which we put it to use

Account data and registration information

To make use of Structural Guide, it is not necessary for you to first register an account. You need an account if you want to write an article or make more than five edits in a day.

You simply need to provide us with your username, password, email address, profession, and location if you want to create an account. Internal record keeping, service improvement, email communication of materials you’ve consented to receive, and website customization or updating are some of the purposes for this information. Since everyone will be able to see your username, you shouldn’t use your real name unless you want to be identified.

You have the option of adding more information to your account at any time

You have the option to request the deletion of your user account. However, any contributions you have made will still be associated with the username you provide.

Information we receive automatically

Your IP address, device type, browser language preference, operating system type and version, internet service provider or mobile carrier, the website that referred you to Structural Design, the pages you request and visit, and the date and time of each request are all pieces of information that we automatically receive.

We could use this information to assess how well the website is performing and to develop ways to make your time there more enjoyable.

Your contributions

Structural Guide maintains a record of every contribution you make to the site, including the addition of articles, comments, and files. This record will display the date and time of your contributions, as well as your username (if you’re logged in) or IP address (if you’re not.) This allows for the creation of a revision history, allowing for later viewing. And if required, reversal of user-made changes, as well as the occasional blocking of abusive users from making additional contributions.

You should not contribute to the website if you do not want this information to be permanently preserved.

You should know that your IP address can be used to figure out things like where you are.

Newsletters

We will maintain a record of your email address, username, profession, and subscription date if you sign up for the Structural Guide newsletter. Using the newsletter management solution, we can create and deliver newsletters more efficiently.

In our weekly mailings, we also employ single-pixel gifs (sometimes known as web beacons). Subscribers who open or click on links in an email are tracked by cookies.

Click the ‘unsubscribe’ option at the bottom of every newsletter you get from us to end your subscription.
